In the final match of the term, all available boys were taken to Loretto for one last hurrah to end the season.
Two of our boys were absent with illness or injury so two shorter matches were combined into one long match with six players per team and rolling substitutes. The Cargilfield boys quickly discovered that some of their opponents had very fast feet and their defensive game had to be top-notch to keep them away from the try line and even then Loretto ended up breaching it many times. However, not to be outdone, Cargilfield also showed great attacking ability – running straight and hard and offloading in the tacking or passing out wide, which resulted in a try count that matched the opposition. It turned into a festival of tries, in spite of some fantastic tackling by both sets of players. Well done to all of the boys for a great match and season. A special mention goes to Zak for a particularly skilful performance and to James for leading the way in keeping pressure on the opposition.
