U9 season ends on a high

U9 season ends on a high

A terrific term of rugby!

Today our U9 squad made their final outing of the season against Loretto, after a short journey over to Musselburgh our men took to the pitch full of enthusiasm. It was dented somewhat with a try conceded within 10 seconds of the kick off. After a gentle reminder from Mr Stephen this was a contact match the Cramond men kicked into life, with some powerful running from Archie, Alexander and Charles.

Tries were easy to come by for both teams until Alexander A stepped up and began to dominate the gain line with some fabulous defensive work, ably assisted by Hugh who was playing his first contact match. The pair were hunting for work and meant a 8-6 lead at the break.

After the break Senuka sprung into life, shortless but effective he glided through gaps and was proving a handful for the Loretto defence, keeping our noses in front on the scoresheet with some neat interplay with Maxi. The decisive moment in the game was some outstanding defensive cover from Alex and Charles to hold up a Loretto player who was destined to score, two quick passes later and Senuka had sealed victory.

A fantastic performance to end the term, all the boys can be incredibly proud of their improvement over the term. Well done and enjoy a deserved rest over Christmas!
