U9 Boys beat Belhaven

U9 Boys beat Belhaven

A lovely afternoon in the sunshine!

The U9 boys enjoyed a spirited and fun cricket match at Belhaven this afternoon. Our captain, Arlo, opted to field first and the boys set out to bowl and field as well as they could from the start. Each bowler had 2 overs each and there were some super displays. Everyone showed a great improvement and it was rewarding to see the boys taking wickets and encouraging each other in the field. The Belhaven boys batted well and managed to score 52 runs.

When batting we looked to score runs on every bowl. There was some good running between the wickets and the calling was clear and, on the whole, sensible. We’ve been talking about decision making in training and I was pleased to see the boys trying to quickly survey the options properly before deciding to run or not. Our shots were strong and we scored a lot of boundaries. In the end we scored well over 100 runs.

Both teams enjoyed a delicious sausage roll together after the match and it was lovely to be given such a warm welcome by the Belhaven boys. Well played everyone!
