A stark contrast from the pouring rain, our team of Lotte B, Clara h, Praise A, Lily B, Florence N, Alexandra McC S, Anjelinaa O-C and Alice N were in bright spirits as they took on Belhaven head to head. Taking on the pointers from last week, Lotte and Clara used the wings to a major advantage when smashing shots down the edges. An unfortunate miscommunication meant Belhaven scored fairly on, but not to be downhearted Angelinaa came pouncing back to bash the ball through the whole opposition defence and gain that goal back. A fantastic goal from two Belhaven players meant the team were on the backfoot again, however just as the opposition were settling in did Clara, Lily and Angelinaa perfectly use a three-man-weave right into the goal. Alice showed her defending superpowers when she saved a goal on the line and crashed it out of our D and into safety. Sadly Belhaven did gain back another goal late on in the game to make the final score 3-2. Some special shoutouts have to go to Alexandra for using her voice the whole game to direct her teammates, Praise for some brilliant man-on-man defending, Florence for her determination in winning the ball back and the whole team in general for continuously playing a stellar game of hockey whilst being soggier than a wet dog in a waterpark. A brilliant effort from the team, well done everyone!
