U11A Netball lost to St Mary's

Lots to learn from and improve

The girls arrived in Melrose excited for their first game of the season. We started off strong with Emily our Captain this week winning the first centre pass. The first quarter started well for both teams having equal possession of the ball resulting in a 3-3 draw. Movement around the court was consistent with accurate passing and moving especially from our central players Emily, Olivia and Beatrice. Valentina playing GD and Aglaya GK were a force in defence making it difficult for St.Mary’s shooters. The second quarter finished 5-4 win.

The seconds half of the match started off slow for us. St.Mary’s came out strong from the beginning which made it difficult for us to keep up. The girls tried to their best but went down 0-5 in the third quarter. In the final quarter we started to link again with our shooters Emilia and Nadia worked well together to score 4 more goals however St.Mary’s held us off with 5.

Going forward the team will be working on our communication skills as they were very quiet on the pitch.
