U11B Boys Cricket vs Strathallan (H)
Won by 77 runs
This was the U11B team's second match of the season, but the first on a grass field and wicket - a chance to show case their knowledge of fielding positions and their ability to use a more expansive space when batting. Our opponents had only three pairs of players to our five pairs, so George and Magnus kindly agreed to join them. Our guests decided to field first and Charlie and Benji strode out to the middle to see what score they could post between them. Their innings went well with both players contributing and their partnership ended on a score of 29 runs and no wickets conceeded - a strong start for Cargilfield. Ezra and Hugo also didn't lose a wicket and managed to work the score up to 51 by the end of their four overs. Arran and Ensay came to the wicket with their intentions clear from the outset, Arran hit a number of fours, with Ensay producing some fine shots of his own. They added 35 runs to the team total. Finally, Nick Daniel batted well through their allotment of balls, losing two wickets in the process, but scoring very freely and added 34 runs to the total.
After drinks, the opposition struggled against some strong bowling when their innings go underway. George and Magnus, however, managed to post the biggest partnership for the team.
The home team won by 77 runs though.
Our thanks to Strathallan for coming.
