On Friday, Cargilfield's under-13 girls' cricket team faced off against Strathallan in an intense Scottish Cup match. Despite being a couple of years younger than their opponents, the team approached the game with confidence, ready to showcase their skills on the field. Winning the toss, Cargilfield elected to field first, aiming to put early pressure on Strathallan.

The initial overs saw Strathallan off to a decent start, scoring 10 runs in the first over. However, Cargilfield quickly found their rhythm, bowling with precision and maintaining a tight line and length. This disciplined bowling performance resulted in regular wickets, effectively restricting Strathallan to a total of just 30 runs. Notably, Isla's outstanding fielding led to two crucial runouts, further bolstering Cargilfield's strong performance in the field.

With the target set, Cargilfield stepped up to the batting crease. While the start was a tad slow, the team steadily built momentum, albeit with some room for improvement in their running between the wickets. Despite this, they managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over steadily. As the game progressed, Miranda's powerful hitting saw her dispatching a couple of boundaries, ultimately sealing the victory for Cargilfield.

The match concluded with Cargilfield emerging victorious, a testament to their all-round performance both in bowling and batting. With this win, they now advance to the next round where they will face Fettes, another exciting challenge on their journey through the Scottish Cup.
