U11A Rugby v Fettes
Won 10-5
In hot, still conditions we welcomed our friends from Fettes for a fast-flowing game of U11 Rugby. Both teams played some good rugby and, while there is lots to work on, it is beginning to resemble proper rugby. There is still a tendency for teams to huddle around the ball, but more shape and passing to find space was on show. Cargilfield were strong and organised at the ruck, which won us a lot of ball. Our running with the ball was aggressive and fast, causing a lot of threats for the Fettes defenders. Support runs were also good, showing a strong desire to play as a team, which was good to see. Overall, it was an encouraging match with plenty of learning moments for both teams. Fettes showed resilience and courage, while Cargilfield demonstrated strong defensive play and creativity in attack. The match showed growing talent and sportsmanship of these young players.
