U11A Hockey v St Mary’s
0-1 Loss
t was an exciting and challenging game for our U11A team at St Mary’s. The girls worked hard throughout the match to hold off St Mary’s strong attack. Our defense, made up of Esme, Eleora, and Emilie, had their hands full but worked with determination and excellent teamwork to protect the goal. They tackled well and were committed to clearing the ball, making it difficult for St Mary’s to get a shot on target.
While our attack managed to push the ball up into the attacking circle several times, we struggled to get a clear shot on goal. The game was a tight contest, with both teams evenly matched as the ball moved rapidly up and down the pitch. Unfortunately, St Mary’s scored the only goal of the game when they caught our defense off guard, creating a one-on-one situation with Thandie in goal, which they capitalized on.
The team showed great effort and resilience, and there are plenty of positives to build on as we prepare for the IAPS Qualifiers next week.
Well done to Georgia for being voted player of the match by St Mary’s.
