U11B Rugby v St Mary’s
Loss 14 – 6
It was a tough afternoon for the boys as we faced a strong St Mary’s side in our three-way game. The challenge was evident from the start, but the boys gave it their all and showed great spirit throughout.
In the first half, our blue team, led by captain Charlie Greif, really hit the ground running. Innes and Hollynd made some solid runs, effectively offloading the ball as they charged forward. Matthew and Daniyal kept the momentum going with smart passing, shifting the ball from side to side as we advanced. Arran showcased his agility, making quick cuts along the sidelines to evade defenders. Faris was a standout player, making crucial tackles all over the pitch and scoring three fantastic tries by slipping through the St Mary’s defence. Despite our hard work, we went into halftime trailing 4-7.
The second half brought fresh energy as our hoops team took the field. Teddy did a great job as captain, keeping spirits high and ensuring everyone communicated well, even as St Mary’s pressed hard. Basil and Zach teamed up effectively, sharing the ball and making clever passes to keep our attack moving. James and Louis were relentless in defence, making tackle after tackle to slow down St Mary’s. Raffi made a key catch that helped us retain possession and score, bringing some excitement back to our side. Jock led our line speed, darting between positions and doing his best to disrupt St Mary’s offense. The effort from every player was commendable, and while the final score wasn’t in our favour, it was clear that the boys gave it everything they had.
Though we didn’t come away with a win, the teamwork and determination on display were impressive. Let’s keep our heads up and take the lessons learned into our next match! Great effort, everyone!
