U9 Lions Hockey v St. Mary’s

The U9 Lions had a wonderful day on the hockey pitch, playing against St. Mary’s in two exciting matches. The girls showed improved confidence in their positions and a better understanding of the rules of hockey. Their teamwork shone through as they spread out and made solid passes each other throughout both games.

Alegra, our captain for the day, played exceptionally well in the center. She tackled fiercely, intercepted key plays and made smart passes to her teammates. Zariah and Izzy, serving as the wings, showed impressive fitness, sprinting up and down the pitch. Zariah delivered strong tackles and passes, while Izzy positioned herself effectively to receive the ball, maintaining good spatial awareness and keeping an eye on the goal, which led her to score some fantastic goals.

Cata showed great dribbling skills as she dodged defenders and scored one of the team’s first goals. Her determination was evident as she fearlessly went for tackles. Agnes made a solid presence in defense, effectively stopping opponents from passing and making excellent passes to her teammates. Ariana, our main defender, kept a vigilant eye on the goal and played a crucial role in preventing the other team from scoring.

Overall, the girls displayed significant improvement, wonderful sportsmanship and a strong team spirit. Well done!
