1st Team Hockey
Fettes Festival
Drew 3
Won 3
Lost 1
After a refreshing half-term break, we returned energized and focused on preparing for the IAPS Finals down south on the 29th of November. Our first challenge back was the Fettes Festival, with 14 strong teams competing. We knew we had a tough group, but we felt confident in our abilities.
We started on a high note, putting in strong performances in our first two matches, both of which ended in draws. However, as the day went on, we became a bit complacent, which affected our structure on the field. Our play got scrappy, but we managed to hold our ground and avoid any losses. Regaining our focus, we secured two solid wins against Morrison’s and Loretto.
Despite our efforts, we finished 3rd in our group, sending us into the plate competition. In the plate, we faced our rivals, St Mary’s, and came away with a satisfying victory. Unfortunately, we couldn’t carry that momentum into our final match, where we were defeated by Heriot’s.
The day was filled with valuable lessons and standout moments. Emily B scored a fantastic short corner, showcasing her skill, and Freya played consistently strong hockey throughout the day. Well done to both of them!
Overall, we left with plenty of positives to build on and a few areas to refine. We’re motivated and ready to put in the work as we head towards the IAPS Finals!
