Some excellent hockey, girls!

U11 Red & Blues Hockey v Loretto

Red won 3-0, Blues drew 0-0

The Blue team played out a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Loretto. Both teams demonstrated strong defensive organization throughout, with neither side able to break the deadlock (despite quite a few chances, especially a great shot by Agus that was unfortunately saved by their keeper!)

Alice was very humble when she was awarded Player of the Match by the opposition for her tireless work defending and attacking. On the wings, Isla impressed with her pace and energy, making many runs up and down the wing to support her teammates. Georgia and Agustina's work off the ball was crucial, as they constantly pressured the Loretto players whenever they had possession, preventing them from pushing any further up the pitch.

Despite both teams pushing hard for a goal, neither could find the breakthrough, and the match ended a 0-0 draw, proving that sometimes you don't need goals to have a brilliant game of hockey.

The red team really proved their worth by secured a 3-0 victory. The Reds made an impressive start, taking a 2-0 lead in the first half, before adding a third goal in the final minute to seal the win.

The opening goal came when Loretto's hit out was intercepted by Isabelle, who swiftly slotted the ball into the net to give Cargilfield the lead. The second goal followed soon after, with Rose driving the ball up the pitch before delivering a beautiful pass to Isabelle, positioned perfectly at the back post to tap the back in.

The second half saw Rose intercepting another hit out and made a run into the D, scoring with just seconds remaining to make it 3-0.

Isabelle was named Player of the Match, with Loretto voting for constantly giving it her all, as well as controlling the ball well. Captain Lily's fantastic passing into the D to was a bonus to the team's attack. Esme's positioning provided solid support throughout the game. Clara also played a pivotal role in controlling the flow of the game.

An all round grand day out, with some beautiful displays of hockey. Great work, everyone!
