U11 A Netball V Fettes

Won 8-3

This was the first match for the girls although many of them had been working through last term on their skills at netball club.

We won the toss and took the first centre pass. Esme was fast and communicated well with Isabelle on the wing and Emilie and Eleora in the D. We quickly took a commanding lead despite some impressive work form the Fettes GK.

After the first quarter Fettes rearranged their players and came out fighting. They quickly began to whittle down our lead. Jed, Anastasia, Georgia and Thandie were our defence and although they marked well during play and made some excellent interceptions, we have work to do to make sure they are always ready for the rebound ball.

At half time we had to regroup and work out how to keep Fettes away from their shooting D. Eleora moved to GK and was fantastic and fearless, a worthy winner of the MVP nominated by Fettes. There was lots of action in the midcourt and a little too much contact as both teams fought for possession. We started to gain the upper hand again and scored another 2 goals. In the final quarter we relaxed a little and managed another fantastic goal.
