11-3 Win
The sun was shining brightly on a crisp January afternoon as Cargilfield kicked off their first match of the season. From the very start, Cargilfield demonstrated excellent teamwork and skill, earning a well-deserved victory. The girls worked seamlessly together, each player contributing to a fantastic team effort.
Sophie and Clara started strong in the attacking positions of Goal Attack (GA) and Goal Shooter (GS), leading the charge with confidence. Their sharp shooting helped secure a 2–1 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, they continued to build on this momentum, adding 3 more goals to their tally. Agustina was a standout in defence, her quick thinking and use of the bounce pass helped move the ball efficiently up the court. Arabella, playing at Centre, was exceptional at reading the play, making key interceptions to regain possession for Cargilfield.
The third quarter saw Fettes come out with a stronger performance, putting pressure on the game. However, Cargilfield's determination never wavered. Zanna impressed with her agility, using her quick jumps to win the ball and disrupt Fettes' play. Minty and Isla were pivotal on the wings, linking up beautifully to feed the ball into the attacking circle with precision.
In the final quarter, a few positional changes brought fresh energy to the game. Niamh, now at Centre, controlled the flow of the match, ensuring that the ball moved smoothly and efficiently. The defence was solid throughout, and the team managed to keep a clean sheet in the final quarter. Agustina and Arabella combined well in attack, adding 3 more goals to seal the win.
It was a fantastic afternoon of netball, played in a supportive and positive atmosphere. The girls demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, which made for an enjoyable and successful start to the season. Sophie was voted Player of the Match by the Fettes girls for her outstanding performance—an accolade well deserved! Well done to all the players for their hard work and determination. Here's to a great season ahead!

U11B Netball v Fettes
Won 9-8
A great win today for our girls against Fettes. Both teams finding their rhythm with Cargie finishing the first quarter 4 points down!! However, as the match went on we gained confidence with our passing, defending and structure and gained 8 further points over the next 3 quarters. Our shooters today were Lily and Clara who both scored points for Cargie. Lily performed outstandingly after a few misses, and went on to score 4 goals in a row during the 2nd and 3rd quarters, with Clara providing valuable support in and around the shooting D.
Glory and Angelina in particular came through with some incredible interceptions, ultimately making turnovers that won us the game. Zinnia played for both attack/defence today and was brilliant at keeping our team spread out, and gave great square options. Praise and Florence both played at Centre today and did amazingly well keeping up with Fettes speedy centre. They too did made some impressive interceptions – they were relentless right until the final whistle. Not forgetting our speedy Wing Attack Emelia who nailed the centre pass forward drive today, without fail receiving each centre pass and outrunning her counter player. A fantastic effort for our first match of the season. Well done girls – you smashed it!!
