U13A Netball lost to St George's

We are improving!

1st Netball v St George’s

15-20

Our second game of the season saw St George’s visit us at Cargilfield. The match started slowly for Cargilfield, but the team quickly picked up pace and matched the intensity of the St George’s players. Despite some good passing and movement, we found ourselves 2-4 down at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter began on a positive note, with improved off-the-ball movement and excellent interceptions from Freya in the WD position, which helped prevent St George’s from feeding the ball into their shooters. The slippery ground and ball presented challenges for both teams, but there was some impressive fast passing on display.

Athena and Ceci were kept busy in the defending circle, facing strong and accurate shooters. However, they stood firm, making several key rebounds to regain possession for the team.

In attack, Alice and Lottie worked well together, though they occasionally got caught out by the strong St George’s defenders. Lottie made the most of her opportunities, receiving some excellent passes and maintaining great control to score the majority of the team’s goals.

The central court players—Emily, Emily, Praise, Freya, and Scarlett—worked tirelessly off the ball, moving into space to facilitate the flow of play up the court.

Well done to all the girls for a strong performance! There are plenty of positives to build on and areas to work on as we continue to improve throughout the season.
