Last weekend, a group of 8 Form 7 pupils ventured out to the Pentland Hills to complete the training for their NNAS Bronze Navigator Award. Over the weekend, they developed the skills to orientate the map using ground features and a compass, estimate distance using both timing and pacing, and recognise contour features, alongside learning about the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and emergency procedures. On Tuesday, following the completion of a theory paper, the pupils went back out into the Pentlands for their practical assessment. Congratulations to all those who passed!
