1stXI Cricket beat The Grange CC

1stXI Cricket beat The Grange CC

A great start to the season!

It’s been a while! 696 days since our last match, the 1stXI played again; it was so good to get back playing a match, and in the glorious setting of Grange Cricket Club on Saturday morning. Fielding first, we bowled and fielded really well considering it was our first game for a long time and we had the whole side representing the 1stXI for the first time. We bowled very consistent line and lengths throughout their innings and the fielding was pretty sharp with three excellent run outs and some catches. Charles was the pick of the nine bowlers, picking up three well deserved wickets, as we restricted Grange to 115-8 in their 25 overs.  It was good to see us keep concentrating throughout the 25 overs as well encouraging and supporting each other throughout

In reply, we batted with real purpose, running well between the wickets and Rory and Ollie set the foundations for our reply with a very good partnership for the 2nd wicket which put us in the driving position. Rory was retired at 30 but it was left to Harry and good support from Cody, to comfortably see us home in the penultimate over and a six wicket win

A great way to begin the season; very well played indeed, boys!
